Bulb Size Effects on Flowering and Bulb Production of Tuberose (Polianthes tuberosa L.) cv. Single

A field experiment was executed under sub-tropical conditions during the period from April 2020 to March 2021 observe effects of bulb sizes on flower and yield tuberose cv. single. The consisted three namely, a small-sized (1.0-1.5 cm in diameter); medium-sized (1.6-2.5 diameter) large sized (2.6-3.0 diameter). Results disclosed that plant height, number leaves plant-1, leaf length breadth, lateral shoots production bulbs diameter, both plant-1 hectare-1, rachis, spike florets spike-1 hectare-1 were increased with increment sizes. longest plant, highest production, larger leaf, size rachis length, flowers spike-1, recorded mother bulb. In contrast, lowest above studied parameters obtained bulbs. So, large-sized can be used for commercial single tuberose.
